Trois jours après avoir gagner le TNA World Heavyweight Championship à Bound For Glory, EC3 l'ex-champion à obtenu une injonction contre Matt Hardy lui empêchant d'apparaitre a Impact avec le titre.
Matt à donc annoncé qu'il rendait le titre vacant et qu'il l'emporterait à nouveau dans des conditions plus clairs.
